Kindergarten Color Scavenger Hunt: Kindergarten students move around the gym working together to find colors in a set order. Students must move together cooperatively while holding onto a common rope. They problem solve how to find a list of colors in a set order while taking turns as the leader. They learn to remember where the colors are hidden and communicate in a kind and positive manner.

With the guidance of a parent volunteer, kindergartners work together in a scientific exploration of a pumpkin.  They judge its size, measure its height and weight, count its ridges, and test its floatability before cutting it open.  After the first cuts are made, the students scoop out the insides, using their five senses as they discuss the experience with each other.  The activity culminates with the students idea-sharing and compromising as to how the jack-o-lantern face should be carved.

During a mindfulness activity, kindergartners can only use body language and eye contact as they take turns pouring a brimful cup of water into an empty cup--without spilling!  No speaking allowed!

Kindergartners take their first test-drive of their Chromebooks with the assistance of their 5th-Grade Buddies.  The elder students offer key instructions and troubleshooting tips to their younger counterparts.  Once the basics are mastered, the partners share interests, explore possibilities, and pursue challenges with respect to the technological device.
