Holdrum CyberHawks at the World Robotics Festival

CyperHawks at World Robotics Festival

106 of the top teams from 37 countries, 25 states, and 4 Canadian providences competed with the Cyberhawks at the World Festival in Detroit, Michigan this year.  Over 43,000 people attended this competition, where the CyberHawks truly were ambassadors for Holdrum, interacting with their counterparts worldwide and discussing their ideas with experts in the field.  A total of 30 teams won awards and the CyberHawks were lucky enough to win a third place trophy for Gracious Professionalism, which “recognizes a team whose members show each other and other teams respect at all times. They recognize that both friendly competition and mutual gain are possible, on and off the playing field.”

The CyberHawks finished 28th out the 106 teams competing in robot performance and improved their New Jersey state competition score by over 50%.  The team also received perfect scores on their project judging rubric in both research and presentation for their project on M.A.R.S. (Magnetic Anti-Radiation Shield), which defers the effect of radiation on astronauts.

The CyberHawks would like to thank our Holdrum family of students, faculty, staff, and administration for their continued support.  They also want to thank the River Vale Education Fund, River Vale PTA, Board of Education, and other key sponsors, Next Level Physio, CellMark, and An Exterior!
